The MALOSSI gear set is intended for the Vespa PX 200 from the 1981-2001 model year range. The gear combination Z 55/40/37/36 differs from the original and enables a variable gear ratio for the four gears.

The gears are made of specially hardened steel. They are manufactured using CNC hobbing machines; The contact surfaces are then ground. This means that the design is specifically designed for the load and interaction of the gears in the transmission.

Function in the transmission

There are small depressions in the contact surfaces between the gears. They support oil transport and improve lubrication on the surfaces that slide against each other during operation.
