Comprehensive care kit for canvas, leather and split leather

This kit combines various products for cleaning, caring for and re-treating accessories, bags and jackets made from canvas, smooth leather or split leather. The product to be used depends on the respective material and the instructions for each individual care product.

Scope of delivery

• Cotton bag with Unit Garage logo
• Waterproofing spray
• Block of solid wax
• One tube of black or brown colour cream for smooth leather, contents 50 ml
• Soft cleaning brush with wooden handle
• Brush with brass bristles and wooden handle for split leather
• Cleaning disc for removing glue and sticky materials, measuring 100 × 60 mm and 8 mm thick
• Microfibre cloth

Waterproofing

The waterproofing spray is suitable for the regular treatment of accessories, bags and jackets made from leather, canvas or split leather.

• If necessary, clean the item with warm, clear water.
• The spray can be used on damp or dry material.
• Shake the bottle and spray the product evenly from a distance of 10 to 15 cm.
• Wiping with a clean, damp cloth improves performance and reduces waste.
• Allow to dry for 12 hours for optimum results.

Safety notice: Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged contact with skin. Use only in a well-ventilated area.

Care with solid wax

How often the item should be rewaxed depends on how it is used. For regular use, resealing at least once a year is recommended.

• Remove dirt and sand.
• Clean with a sponge and cold water.
• Do not use soap or cleaning agents.
• Do not machine wash, dry-clean, iron or tumble dry.
• Work in a warm room or outdoors in the sun.
• Place the item to be treated in the sun or near a heat source.
• Carefully spread the wax with a soft cloth or sponge, paying particular attention to seams and creases.
• Rub in thoroughly and do not use excess wax.
• For an even finish, dry the waxed material with a hairdryer.
• Then hang it in a warm place overnight.

Colour cream for smooth leather

The black or brown colour cream is used to cover scratches and scuffs on smooth leather. It must not be used on split leather.

1. Clean the area to be treated.
2. Massage the cream in with a sponge and allow it to absorb.
3. Allow to dry for 15 minutes.
4. Polish with a soft cloth.

Brushes and cleaning disc

• The soft brush allows for even cleaning without scratches.
• The brush with brass bristles is intended for cleaning and raising the nap of split leather.
• The cleaning disc removes glue and sticky residue from leather or split leather. To do so, rub it over the area with light pressure and then clean with a soft cloth.

The kit is intended for bags, accessories and clothing made from canvas, leather or split leather. The manufacturer's compatibility list includes the BMW R 1200 GS LC, R 1200 GS Adventure LC, R 1200 GS LC Rad, R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure LC, among numerous other motorcycle models and accessory applications.
