RAD Motorsport conversion kit for a distinctive, slim front

This comprehensive RAD kit redesigns the front and tank area of the BMW R 1200 GS LC or R 1250 GS. The combination of lightweight ABS fairing parts, stainless steel components and CNC-machined aluminium details combines a distinctive Motorsport look with functional improvements to airflow and ergonomics.

Design and function

• The tank covers change the motorcycle’s appearance and ergonomics and feature graphics and transparent protection.
• Lightweight side panels complement the redesigned tank area.
• Radiator deflectors direct hot radiator air away from the rider’s legs.
• The new front element gives the front a slimmer and more tapered appearance.
• Stainless steel side elements influence the airflow and increase the air supply around the airbox snorkel.
• The airbox snorkels replace the standard airflow restrictors and, according to the manufacturer, improve performance in the mid-range.

Materials and details

• Tank covers in Motorsport design with graphics and transparent protection.
• Side panels, radiator deflectors, ABS elements and centre cover in Matt Black with opaque transparent sections.
• Side protection elements made from sandblasted and electropolished stainless steel.
• Air intakes made from solid Ergal, CNC-machined and subsequently anodised.
• Laser-cut stainless steel mesh on the aluminium air intakes.
• Side “Unit Garage” logo on the air intakes; depending on the selected version, with or without the Unit Garage logo.

Installation

The fairing parts are supplied with the required holes and mounting components. Side panels, radiator deflectors, side ABS elements and centre cover are prepared for quick installation on the tank covers or frame. The mount on the front is designed for the original R 1200 GS logo; alternatively, the included pre-cut decals can be used.

Compatibility

• BMW R 1200 GS LC, not Adventure; the manufacturer’s specifications list model years 2013 to 2019, while this kit version is designated for models from 2017.
• BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS with RAD kit according to the compatibility specification.
• The respective motorcycle model year must be considered when making your selection.
