BMW R 120 G/S R [2004-2012] - R Kit

Complete conversion kit for a classic G/S appearance

The R Kit visually takes the BMW R 120 G/S R back to the origins of the G/S without fundamentally changing comfort and rideability. According to the manufacturer, the conversion takes approximately two hours, does not modify the original parts and can be reverted to the original vehicle configuration. The headlight, oil cooler and front fairing do not need to be replaced with this version.

Tank Covers

The kit includes a pair of lightweight tank covers in Alpine White with graphics and a clear protective finish. They are made from special resin and MAT with carbon fiber reinforcements and are supplied fully drilled, with screws, rubber buffers, a rear mounting bracket and machined bushings for the front mounting points.

The motorcycle's three original upper M5 clips are used with the supplied M5 screws with a length of 12 mm to connect the two covers. The original pointed M5 screws must not be used, as they may damage the tank covers.

Seat

Depending on the selection, a standard-height or lowered seat is included in one of the available colors. The lowered version provides a specified seat height of 82 cm. As it is narrower and more rounded than the original seat, the rider's legs are spread less widely, making it easier for the feet to reach the ground.

Side Panels and Side Covers

The exceptionally lightweight side panels have a matte black finish, a clear protective coating and R120-G/S graphics. They are installed with mounts, rubber parts and screws without modifying the motorcycle. A clear protective film for the frame paintwork is also included. The design accommodates the frames for the original ADV aluminum cases as well as the separately available mounts for the original Vario plastic cases.

The kit also includes lightweight, aluminum-colored side covers with a matte finish. They attach to the original mounting points and are supplied with inserts and mounting screws.

Rear Fender

The lightweight rear fender is matte black with a clear protective finish. It attaches to the original mounting points and has holes for case frames.

The original mounts for Vario plastic cases cannot be used directly with the kit. The separately available Unit Garage case frame is required to install the original Vario cases. Original ADV aluminum cases with metal frames can be used in the R configuration.

Luggage Rack and Tank Strap

The luggage rack is made from steel and treated with a durable powder coating. It is installed with aluminum spacers and the original screws and features grab handles for the passenger.

The handcrafted tank strap made from Italian full-grain leather is stitched with nylon thread. It covers the joint between the tank covers and allows optional accessories to be attached. The required installation parts are included.
