VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged pistons for the KAWASAKI KX 450

The VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged piston is designed for the 2023 KAWASAKI KX 450. Its forged aluminum construction combines racing piston compression with a piston crown shape tailored to the combustion process.

Designed piston shape and resilient construction

The shape and design of the piston crown is optimized to improve the flame front and achieve a higher compression ratio. Reinforcements increase the stability of the piston structure and thereby limit the deformation of the piston crown. Treatment reduces friction.

The short, chamfered piston pin has a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) treatment. A clip with an external nose prevents rotation at high engine speeds. The very thin GNH ring is made of high-strength steel.
